Missing Persons
The Kankakee City Police investigates
all persons who are reported as missing. The reporting person must
sign the report form, and authorize the use of photographs, fingerprints
and medical records for the purpose of locating and identifying the
missing person. All persons reported missing are placed into L.E.A.D.S.
(State of Illinois Law Enforcement Agency Data System) and N.C.I.C. (National
Crime Information Center).
The Patrol Division is responsible
for investigating and following up on voluntary missing persons and persons
who are not emancipated (under the age of 18). To file a report
in Kankakee, bring a recent photograph of the missing person and all information
to the front desk of the Police Department.
