CITY OF KANKAKEE

All persons who are interested in the position of Police Officer for the City of Kankakee

The following are the basic requirements:

Valid Illinois Drivers License

High School diploma or equivalent

United States Citizen

Good moral character - no felony convictions

Pass a background, psychological and medical evaluation

Qualify on a written, oral exam and Physical Agility Test (POWER)

Must be between 20 and 35 years of age (Must be age 21 by date of appointment )

Applicants MUST pass the state POWER test

Base Pay: Rookie base pay starts at $39,912.00 plus benefit, holiday and overtime

Top Patrolman Base $51,500.00 plus benefit, holiday and overtime

Benefit pay: Educational, shift, longevity, bilingual, fitness
